WHAT IS COMBINATION SKIN?
Combination skin has the qualities of both oily and dry skin. Combination skin is characterised by oiliness, often around the forehead, nose and chin (known as the T-zone), as well as drier areas on the rest of the face, particularly around the cheeks.
As such, the main problem for combination skin types is the challenge of meeting the varying needs of the face. Drier areas require hydration, while the T-zone requires skincare to help reduce the production of sebum from the sebaceous glands.
WHAT CAUSES COMBINATION SKIN?
A number of different factors can contribute to a combination skin type.
Genetics play a large role in determining your skin type, however stress, hormones and environmental aggressors can also affect the skin, leading to dry patches and an overproduction of sebum. That’s why it’s so important to build the correct skincare routine for combination skin.
